Mary Anne Messer recently passed the National Counselor Exam. This exam is used as part of obtaining a Licensed Professional Counselor credential in Mississippi. Currently, Mary Anne is an intern at the South Mississippi State Hospital. Congratulations Mary Anne!
Kayla Moorer successfully defended her dissertation today. She found that enhancement sex specific alcohol expectancies had an indirect effect in the relationship between conformity to feminine norms and harmful drinking, protective behavioral strategies and sexual victimization. She also found that enhancement sex specific alcohol expectancies had an indirect effect in the relationship between masculine norms and harmful drinking, protective behavioral strategies and sexual victimization. Congratulations Kayla! She will begin her predoctoral internship at the Texas Women's University Counseling Center in August.
Danielle Cottonham successfully defended her master's thesis today. She found that greater sexual enhancement alcohol expectancies and increased alcohol consumption predicted more risky sexual behavior among African American Female College students. Congratulations Danielle.
